LG enabled OLED TV Lineup For 2016

Last year, we finally got a decent number of 4K TVs released into the market.  These 2016 TVs combine HDR technology with OLED, which uses self-illuminating (self-emissive) pixels to create an even brighter and more colorful image. These 2016 OLED 4K TVs will support all current HDR formats, including HDR10 and DolbyVision HDR technology. LG will launch the 2016 4K HDR-enabled OLED TV lineup with the flagship 77- and 65-inch G6 and 65- and 55-inch E6 models. For 2016, LG plans to have a total of four new 4K series and eight OLED TVs overall. The G6 and EG series will join the curved panel C6 and flat-panel B6 series that will be available in 65- and 55-inch sometime in the first quarter of 2016. Here's how you can watch LG's CES 2016 press conference live stream online, and also what we expect to see. LG's CES 2016 press conference is set to be an interesting one, with the company teasing announcements regarding home entertainment, home appliances and even upcoming smartphones (we go into more detail about what to expect below). The press conference itself will take place tomorrow, Tuesday January 5 at 8am PST (4pm to us in the UK) and LG has announced that it'll be hosting its own live stream of the event for fans to tune in from around the world - read on to find out how. Smartphone(s): Although LG announced the LG G Flex and G Flex 2 at past CES events, rumours suggest that it may not be a home run for the curvy smartphone - which is disappointing in itself, as LG is usually the only major smartphone manufacturer to announce new phones at CES (based on the past couple of years, anyway). According to Korean news site Media Daum , the smartphone may not only be delayed - it might be scrapped altogether. A more recent rumour suggests that LG hasn't completely scrapped the idea, but is instead focusing on a curved display similar to Samsung's S6 Edge. Flexible OLED display: Although the curved LG display was first spotted in the wild back in the summer of 2014 , the firm is now parading the technology at CES 2016 for all to see - which we assume means it won't be too long before we see it featured in consumer products. The 18in OLED display prototype at CES 2016 can be rolled as tightly as a newspaper without causing any damage. While LG hasn't announced how the technology will be utilised, we imagine that mounting a paper-thin flexible OLED TV display to a wall will be a lot simpler. Three new 4K TVs: It wouldn't be an LG CES announcement if there wasn't a focus on TVs. LG will be launching three new 4K LCD TVs (UH9500, UH8500 and UH7700) ranging from 49 to 86 inches, and will include LG's own HDR-Plus”. As well as HDR Plus technology, the TVs are set to feature LG's new webOS 3.0 software, which is also set for a CES 2016 launch. With Magic Mobile Connection users will easily connect a mobile phone to their LG Smart TV. LG's 2016 lineup of Smart TVs featuring webOS 3.0 will be on display in LG's booth (LVCC Central Hall, #8204) at CES 2016 from Jan. The Consumer Electronics Show 2016 will take place in the first week of January, 2016. The geek mind wants to know of course also what the latest discoveries in science are and the latest technology news. LG is partnering with Google to bring the Internet of Things to their products this year through Google's Brillo and Weave software. Past experiences include: WBZ-TV CBS Boston Newsroom Intern, Correspondent and Production Assistant for Boston's Neighborhood Network News, Associate Producer for BUTV10's Inside Boston, and Local News for WTBU News Radio. On the first day of CES 2016, LG unveiled a pair of new K-line devices, the LG K10 and K7. Intended to provide a premium look and feel at an affordable budget, the new devices have 5.3- and 5-inch screens, respectively. Unfortunately, we couldn't get any word from LG employee Raul Lopez on the anticipated prices and release dates for the new devices. We're expecting TVs to be a big part of LG's announcements at CES 2016 too, especially things relating to its WebOS platform and the holy grail 8K standard. But it's the LG G Flex 3 that we're really looking forward to seeing (despite some claiming there won't be another G Flex). Without the problems of the Snapdragon 810, the next version of LG's flexible smartphone, if it does come to be, could be a real contender in 2016. With Samsung losing its title as the best Android smartphone camera we're sure the company will be bringing its A-game in 2016. HTC will likely reserve its HTC One M10 for an unveiling at MWC 2016 rather than CES, but we should see the secret partnership the company teased earlier this year with Under Armor. Expect to see even more companies entering the fray in 2016 in a dedicated wearable wing in Vegas. CES 2016 promises to show us what comes after these two class-leading mobile processors. Yes, we know we discussed Oculus year after year, but the company is finally scheduled to officially launch the consumer version of the Oculus Rift in Q1 of 2016, meaning a final version will definitely be at CES 2016. The consumer version of HTC's Vive VR headset has been delayed until April 2016 but the company will also launch a developer edition of the Vive at CES 2016. With 25 percent more floor space dedicated to cars at CES 2016, you can bet smart cars in 2016 are going to be what smartwatches were in 2015. LG's 2016 OLED TVs feature HDR Pro, assuring a superior HDR viewing experience, with increased contrast ratio and color range. LG 2016 OLED TV lineup supports the industry-standard HDR formats established by the world's leading broadcasters, film studios and consumer electronics manufacturers, such as HDR10 and DolbyVision HDR technology, making them among the first to be compatible with all formats. The stylish body of these flat-panel LG 4K OLED TVs with miniscule bezels and powerful sound capabilities add a touch of sophistication to any home environment, and provide a superior cinematic viewing experience. LG OLED 4K TVs assure a superior HDR viewing experience, thanks to its unique ability to achieve perfect black to reveal even greater picture detail, reproducing images more like real life. The 2016 lineup's HDR capabilities are also enriched by OLED's Pixel Dimming technology. Developed in partnership with high-end audio pioneer harman/kardon, the LG G6 and E6 feature front-firing sound bar speakers. The sound bar system is equipped with extra woofers to bolster the power of the speakers, setting LG OLED TVs apart from other TVs. The entire 2016 OLED TV lineup features the newest generation of LG's acclaimed webOS Smart TV platform. With enhanced mobile connectivity, remote features and more content options - including those offering streaming HDR, LG webOS 3.0 makes it even simpler and more fun than ever for users to find and enjoy the content they want to watch. The first thing to know about LG's OLED TV lineup in 2016, which was shown off at CES in Las Vegas, is that they'll all have basically identical picture quality, which LG claims is a bit better than the 2015 versions we liked so much. Meanwhile the lesser models, the C6 and the B6, are very similar to the 2015 EG9600 and EF9500 The former has a curved screen (the only curved OLED TV in LG's 2016 stable) and the latter a flat one. LG didn't cite an actual brightness level in nits, but did tell us that they will hit the 540 nits (a unit of light output) required for UHD Alliance certification. The 2016 models also boast a somewhat wider color gamut, delivering a claimed 99 percent of the DCI color space compared to around 88 percent for the 2015 versions, according to our measurements. Five of the most advanced new products introduced today CES 2016 are available for pre-order through and other participating online retailers. Monitors: New for 2016, LG is debuting the Curved UC98 21:9 UltraWide® Monitor series, which provides extra screen real estate designed to ensure maximum productivity and entertainment for today's demanding power users. Available for pre-order now is the 34-inch class (32.7 inches measured diagonally) LG UltraWide Monitor. Oklahoma's Own is proud to provide Oklahomans with timely and relevant news and information, sharing the stories, pictures and loves of Oklahomans across our great state including Tulsa's Own and Green Country's Own. LG's MWC 2016 invite hints at the launch of a new series of smartphones focusing on music, and an ecosystem of multimedia offerings alongside. Although it's a far cry but still since LG Watch Urbane and its second generation was unveiled at the last MWC trade show, it might be possible that LG will launch the wearable device's third generation. The OLED Association posted an interesting article, summarizing 2015 and giving its projection for 2016 and onwards. LG earned top honors from USA Today's , Engadget, HD Guru, Techlicious and TechRadar, among others, in addition to two Mark of Excellence Awards and 20 CES Innovation Awards from the Consumer Technology Association (CTA®) across multiple mobile communications, home entertainment and home appliance categories. LG Electronics is honored to receive the CES Editors' Choice Award for LG SIGNATURE Door-In-Door Refrigerator. LG debuted the brand new LG SIGNATURE ultra-premium products at CES 2016 to high acclaim. MWC in 2016 will be happening a bit earlier than usual, February 22, to be precise, and it's already whispered that Samsung will launch a new Galaxy S7 flagship in the days just ahead. LG, on the other hand, has been in the habit of having its own launch events later in the year, but a bunch of recent rumours say it may be pulling a Samsung and revealing all on or around MWC 2016 too. As is usually the case, LG will have a BIG presence at this year's MWC 2016 where it is expected to unveil, among other things, the mighty LG G5. The company will also likely release a new wearable too, as well as the usual gamut of accessories and mid-to-low-end handsets and tablets. Android Headlines also reckons the LG G5 could launch as early as Q1, 2015 - so, quite a bit earlier than the G3 and G4, which both landed inside Q2 of 2013 and 2014, respectively. You can read our LG G4 Review for all the brilliant details of that fantastic handset, but this article is going to be all about the next device in the series. The LG G5 is rumored to have a 5.6-inch True HD IPS display with a flexible touchscreen. The rumored resolution is likely accurate as most flagships in 2016 should move to 4K displays (if they don't have them already). We saw it happen with the advent of 1080p and QHD and now it looks as if we'll see something similar happen in 2016 with the move to 4K panels on smartphones. Interestingly, this would make the G5 smaller than last year's 5.5in LG G4, though the G5 will have a smaller, EDGE-like secondary display — 160 x 1040 — for displaying notifications just like Samsung's Galaxy Note range. LG is reportedly working with IRIENCE, a South Korean-based technology company that specialises in eye-scanning technology. IRIENCE will provide the scanner for the upcoming LG G5 apparently and said scanner will be able to read a person's eye from a distance of 50cm, making it ideal for use when held normally. Gimmick or not, the LG G5 will likely be the first smartphone to ship with such a feature. Details emerging on November 19 appear to confirm that LG is planning to introduce its own mobile payment system inside 2016. The Korea Times reports having heard from an LG spokesperson, although alarmingly the report states the firm plans to launch the new platform as early as next month, December. However, LG is quite often one for going public with longer term plans, so it may simply be an official announcement with a rollout starting in 2016. Either way, the LG G5 seems like a likely candidate for a debut of this technology, especially if it has biometric eye scanner security as previously rumoured. Metal-clad bodies are all the rage at the moment, so we wouldn't be surprised to see LG adopting something similar on its next flagship release. We don't expect LG to increase to overall size and weight of the handset much; the G4 was already pretty big. However, according to a report from November 17, the LG G5 may launch with a completely new design featuring a metal unibody - the word comes via news sources in LG's home nation of South Korea Assuming this is accurate it would make the LG G5 the firm's first full-metal handset. The reports detail that LG is actively attempting to cash in on the popularity of metal-bodied phones from rivals such as Apple and Samsung. It's also suggested the device may arrive in Q1 2016 to oppose Samsung's next flagship, so we may be looking at a MWC launch, or perhaps shortly afterwards (as LG usually waits a little bit). The fact that LG kept its batteries removable aboard the LG G4 was commendable, design complaints aside. As for RAM, the LG G5 is rumored to include anywhere between 3-6GB of RAM, depending on your sources. This is probably entirely accurate as LG wouldn't be dumb enough to pull an Apple and start out a flagship phone with only 16GB of storage.
